Iraq. Ministers of Council Meeting  Summary

Iraq:  The Council of Ministers has decided to grant a 50% increase in salary for workers at shelters in Baghdad and all other governorates. This includes nannies, service workers, and craftsmen who adhere to the guidelines stipulated in Article 15 of the amended Law on Salaries of State and Public Sector Employees (2008). Such a measure is taken as an acknowledgment of the immense humanitarian aid these people provide as well as an incentive for those whose services will be transferred to the shelters. The decision will take effect on June 1st, 2023.

Iraq:  The Cabinet approved the bill on ratifying the agreement between Iraq and Russia for exempting diplomatic, service, and special passport holders from entry visas, which was sealed in Baghdad on April 2nd 2023.

Iraq:  Additionally, they approved an amendment to a law associating Iraq to the International Convention on Load Lines of 1966 as well as its 1988 Protocol amending it (No.35 of 2015).

The Council also deliberated on other public matters and made needed decisions.
